Championship Game

Well, this should cause enough controversy for a lifetime - so feel free to comment! JA Pep Rally was wonderful. Very positive and inspiring. There was NO negativity and it was all about supporting our team together. That is part of the beauty of JA. The Pep Rally started with a parade through the school. They started in the Preschool where the kids were singing the Fight Song and high-fiving boys who they look up to, then to the Elementary through High School for signs, cheering and pats on the back. They whole thing ended up in the Gym for the pep rally. So - this is JA v Prep. I remember these games from 400 years ago when I was in school. At the moment - they mean everything. The school was covered in balloons all around. There were banners for every senior player. Cars were painted. Motivation was everywhere. The theme was "We Believe". The reason for this was because NOBODY thought JA would win outside of our school. Everyone from age 3 - 70 wore stickers that simply said "I Believe"... and we had good reason to believe!!! So here comes the part some won't like ... but it's the truth. JA won the Championship game Friday night. They played like heroes. It was a matter of a few bad calls and a clock malfunction that allowed Prep to leave with the "title" of Champions. JA took some late hits ... and retaliated by intercepting. JA played the game of football with integrity and strength Friday night. The stands were roaring ALL night. JA supported their team not just in good play times ... but during the entire game. I am SO glad that Hudson is experiencing this school. Thursday some of the players brought Hudson out and practiced plays with him - they were on their knees to get on his level. It's just an amazing family. I was so sorry to see the hurt in JA ... but I, personally, would not have wanted us to accept a win the way they had to. So ... that's my soapbox!
